GP ‘Good Samaritan’ Course

What we Aim to Achieve

What is our Good Samaritans Course?

“Is there a doctor on board?”

A sentence that puts trepidation in the hearts of many doctors, yet most of us would step up to help in a medical emergency. But should we? Must we? Do we have the skills? Would our medical insurance cover us? These are some of the questions posed and answered in our Good Samaritans course.

This one day course for GPs uses a mix of simulation based training and outdoor workshops to enable us to reconnect with colleagues, hone our professional skill base and act appropriately as a Good Samaritan.

If you are interested in booking this course for your residents or GP colleagues, or would like more information, please contact us here.

What you will gain: CPD and Beyond

Endeavour courses always deliver high-quality teaching. Teaching is led by experienced professionals in the field. It is immersive, holistic, and flexible to help all attendees meet their personal development goals.

All courses are directly aligned to the professional capabilities set out within UK Foundation Training and postgraduate specialty training curricula. Specifically, all courses cover clinical assessment and prioritisation, address complexity and uncertainty, communication skills, holistic planning, fitness for practice (well-being), ethical and legal principles, health promotion, illness prevention, and leadership.

Endeavour faculty are all familiar with principles of good supervision and training and can complete any work-based assessments undertaken during the course (including CEX and CBD). Reflective practice is also encouraged.

This course offers 16 hours of CPD.
