MEDICAL indemnity insurance
We require all indemnity applications at least 4 weeks prior to departure. If you require indemnity in a shorter time frame you can apply via our fast track service, of within 2 weeks, for £50. If Endeavour are able to indemnify you this cost will be added to your indemnity invoice.
Expedition Medic Insurance
Endeavour Medical has worked with leading insurance and legal experts to create a tailored medical malpractice insurance for those working as medics on expeditions or events.
Our policy is through Howdens Global Division and underwritten by CFC insurers.
Cover Includes:
Medical malpractice
Negligence or breach of a duty of care
Occurrence based claims
Cover for all global citizens (surcharges may apply for US / Canadian citizens)
Limits and excess:
£2,000,000 Limit of indemnity applicable to each and every claim and in the aggregate during the period of insurance
Excess £1,000 per claim (client to pay £500)
Any health professional can apply for indemnity with Endeavour Medical. In order for Endeavour to indemnify you, you must be engaged with us; this includes, but is not confined to: attending an Endeavour course or working for Endeavour within the last two years; involvement within our education and research hub; or writing an article or educational piece for our newsletter or social media prior to your expedition.
Decisions around the cost of indemnity will also be based around your clinical and expedition experience and, if deemed necessary, the availability of remote telemedical support by a senior clinician. Should this support not be available to you, Endeavour are able to offer you tele-medical support from a senior expedition doctor for £90/week.
Endeavour will provide you with a downloadable Expedition Medical Checklist to support you pre, during and post expedition.
Endeavour Medical reserves the right to refuse the provision of indemnity if either the expedition or your risk is deemed too high.
